At the SIH Brain & Spine Institute, we use the latest technology to make surgery safer, more precise, and less invasive.

StealthStation™ Surgical Navigation - This advanced system allows our surgeons to track surgical instruments in real time during cranial, spinal, and ENT procedures. By combining preoperative and intraoperative images, StealthStation™ provides a 3D “map” of a patient’s anatomy, guiding surgeons with accuracy and confidence. It also allows surgical planning and simulation before and during a procedure.
O-arm™ O2 Imaging System - The O-arm™ O2 is a mobile imaging system that provides both 2D and enhanced 3D views during surgery. With real-time feedback, surgeons gain greater visibility for complex or minimally invasive procedures. The system also reduces radiation exposure for patients compared to traditional methods.
Carotid Ultrasound - This non-invasive test uses sound waves to measure blood flow through the carotid arteries, which supply blood to the brain. It helps neurologists assess stroke risk and determine whether preventive or therapeutic treatment is needed.

Our nurse navigators guide you through your entire journey, from the first appointment to post-treatment follow-up. They monitor your progress, advocate for your needs, and help ensure communication across your full care team.

If your condition can be managed with interventional pain treatments or physical therapy, we offer those services locally—so you don’t have to travel for care. If surgery is needed, our specialists use advanced technology to deliver precise, safe treatment and support your recovery.

Our diagnostic and surgical tools include advanced neuroimaging such as 3T MRI, MR/CT angiography, MR/CT venography, and the StealthStation™ surgical navigation system. What conditions does SIH Neurosurgery treat?

Our neurosurgeons treat a wide variety of conditions, ranging from cranial, spinal, and peripheral nerve syndrome to degenerative disc disease and more. If you think you may need a neurosurgeon, speak with your primary care provider for an evaluation and referral.

Do you see children under 18?

No. At this time, SIH Neurosurgery provides care for adult patients only.

How should I prepare for my first neurosurgery visit?

Keep a symptom journal (date, time, triggers, duration, what helps or worsens them).
Bring a current list of medications, including name, dose, and how you take each one.
Write down any questions you would like to ask your neurosurgeon.
Have you completed physical therapy or had injections related to the symptoms? Where did you complete this treatment? What location was the injection on your body? Who administered the injections?
If you have had imaging done outside SIH, request a copy on disc and bring it to your appointment.

Is neurosurgery covered by insurance?

Medicare and most major insurance plans cover neurosurgical care. We recommend checking with your insurance provider for details about your coverage. If surgery is recommended and you agree to proceed, an RN navigator will assist you with the insurance approval process.

Will SIH Neurosurgery manage medications prescribed by other providers?

No. Our neurosurgery team only manages medications prescribed directly by SIH neurosurgeons. In some cases, once a treatment plan has been established, medication management may be transferred to your primary care provider.
